1989年にオランダ・アムステルダムのOPEN HAVEN MUSEUMで開催された《red & white ― ポーランドとロシアの現代美術展》のエキシビジョンポスターです。
この展覧会は、冷戦下のポーランドおよびソビエト連邦の前衛芸術家が参加したコレクション展でした。開催年である1989年は、ポーランド共産政権とソ連体制が崩壊へ向かう歴史的転換期にあたり、実際に会期の約1か月後にはベルリンの壁が崩壊しています。
社会主義体制が終焉を迎える直前、「抑圧・抵抗・崩壊」をテーマとする前衛美術を西側のオランダへリアルタイムで紹介した、極めて政治性と時代性の強い展示でした。
